Nordex UK: Further contract from an existing customer
Eight turbines with a combined capacity of 20MW will be supplied for an extension to the Pant-y-Wal Wind Farm.

Hamburg, 4 November. Nordex has received an order from the United Kingdom to supply existing customer Pennant Walters Ltd, with eight N90/2500 GAMMA wind turbines for the Pant-y-Wal Extension Wind Farm.

Located close to the town of Bridgend in South Wales the site is characterised by IEC 1 wind speeds. These are good conditions for the N90/2500 strong-wind turbine, which has been designed for this wind class. In addition to the contract for the delivery of the turbines, Pennant Walters has signed a 15-year premium service contract with Nordex. Pant-y-Wal Extension is scheduled to go into operation in March 2017.

It is the third wind farm for which project developer Pennant Walters has ordered Nordex wind turbines. Together with the two existing wind farms this most recent project will bring their total installed capacity of Nordex turbines to 95 megawatts. With the award of a further contract by this customer, Nordex is reinforcing its status in the United Kingdom, where it has a market share of around 25 percent of total installed capacity.
